scary kids picking scary upsets
it's that time of year again. I am doing 3 brackets this year: one at work, one with select roommates and one with an old college buddy. I'm not gonna lie, I have illinois winning in all of them. I know they're hyped and all, but some teams are rightly hyped (see: kentucky '96) and I think illinois is one of those teams.
so I kept my work picks pretty safe because I think there's gonna be some money riding on it, but then I came across this article on espn.com and now I'm re-thinking my picks. the headline reads On average, 1.3 5-seeds fall each year in round one and I don't have any 5-12 upsets this year. fuck. I hate second guessing. I played around my other two brackets but nothing too crazy, I've learned that predicting crazy upsets just gets you that much closer to the bottom of the rankings.
right now I'm listening to scary kids scaring kids' latest EP. I like it.
